General Rules
- Every participants should register and confirm their presence before the competition starts.
- The registration will start at 7.30 AM and ends at 8 AM.
- The competition will start at
8 AM and ends at 5PM. It applies for the first day and the second day. - The participants are allowed to use small notes.
- The affirmative team will begin the debate first.
- There will be two team for each sessions.
- There will be three speakers for each team.
- There will be the;
- 1st speaker
- 2nd speaker
- 3rd speaker
- Reply speaker - There will be 3 cards given, yellow, green and red;
- Yellow means the speakers are allowed to begin.
- Green means the speakers have 2 minutes left.
- Red means the speakers time to regulate is over.
ROUNDS
Day - 1
Preliminary Round (16 groups)
Preliminary Round (16 groups)
- Each debate section will be held for 30-40 minutes, the participants will be given; 5-7 minutes time to deliver the speech for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd speakers for each team and 3-5 minutes for the reply speaker.
- Each participants are allowed to use small notes.
- Deduction point for under-time and overtime (The Liaison Officer will give the time instruction).
- Timing will begin once the first speaker from the affirmative team definite verbal or non-verbal communication.
- The motions will be given 40 minutes before the competitions.
- Each participants will be given 30 minutes time for brainstorming and research. (Mobile phones and internet are not allowed).
Quarter-Final Round (8 groups)
- Each debate section will be held for 30-40 minutes, the participants will be given; 5-7 minutes time to deliver the speech for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd speakers for each team and 3-5 minutes for the reply speaker.
- Each participants are allowed to use small notes.
